Coverage of Wilkes University To Award Founders Scholarships

As a sign of its commitment to Mesa and the greater Phoenix area, Wilkes University will award $5,000 scholarships to the first 30 qualified transfer students to be accepted and enroll in its business bachelor’s degree programs.  The Founders Scholarships, good for two years, build on a newly signed transfer agreement with the Maricopa Community Colleges and further the missions of both institutions to provide access to quality education at an affordable price. MCCCD Skills Centers Receive Federal Job-Training Grant

Maricopa Community Colleges announced that two of its skill centers will receive part of a $10 million federal job-training grant co-administered by the U.S. Departments of Labor and Education. This is the fourth and final round of TAACCCT funding; three Maricopa Community Colleges — Rio Salado, Estrella Mountain and Mesa Community College — have received funding in the past. Mesa Company Trains, Connects Service Dogs with People

Jennifer Rose, a 22-year-old student at Mesa Community College, is seeking a dog from Arizona Goldens to help with epilepsy.
